Session Details:

Junior sessions on THURSDAYs, These sessions are beginner, novice and intermediate levels (under 16 years).  On the mat  5:30-6:30 p.m. the Junior session is aimed at the younger judoka, with the majority of participants currently being between 6 and 16 years old.  If you do not own a JudoGi then come along and try wear jogging bottoms and a good fitting T'Shirt.

British Judo licences must be obtained before your fifth lesson, and as well as allowing you to be graded, the licenses allow you to enter BJA sanctioned competitions and provide insurance cover.

We believe that interaction between the grades is beneficial both for the less experienced judoka (allowing them to attempt techniques against more experienced opponents who can advise and encourage) and for the experienced judoka (a chance to pass on years of accumulated knowledge).  We regard ourselves as a ‘friendly’ club, and as such in Randori (practice fighting) we do not expect experienced judoka to take advantage of the less experienced.

There is no pressure to grade, so you can progress at your own rate, and we will be happy to confirm your suitability, or work on grading theory, if and when you decide you want to progress.
